The Trocano Araretama Conservation Project area is made up of three distinct project areas, totalling 1,346,541ha. It is located in the Municipality of Santo Antônio de Borba, which is positioned on the banks of the most important tributary in the southern Amazon Basin, the Madeira River. The project area is 208 km south east of the state capital Manaus. The main objective of the Trocano Araretama Conservation Project is to avoid deforestation and degradation of natural forests in the project area and region.

Project Summary
The CGV Madeirinhas Conservation Project’s main objective is to mitigate GHG emissions, through avoided deforestation & degradation, while encouraging more effective forest governance, and to provide additional co-benefits to the natural forest ecosystem, and provide socio-economic investment & improvements for the local communities.
